On Monday, November 29, representatives of the municipalities of Cabricán, Santa Cruz del Quiché, and Uspantán submitted to the Congress, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the Presidency of the Republic, the Human Rights Ombudsman's Office and other governing bodies the official results of historic community referenda carried out in October. Additionally, a delegation from the municipality of Huitán, which held
its own community consultation on November 22, accompanied the delegates of the other municipalities in an act of solidarity.
Lunes, el 29 de noviembre, representantes de los municipios de Cabricán, Santa Cruz del Quiché, y Uspantán entregaron al Congreso, el Ministerio de Energía y Minas, el Ministerio de Ambiente y Recursos Naturales, la Presidencia de la República, la Procuraduría de los Derechos Humanos y otros entes gubernamentales los resultados de consultas comunitarias históricas efectuadas en octubre. Asimismo, una delegación del municipio de Huitán, que celebró su propia consulta comunitaria el 22 de noviembre, acompañó solidariamente a los delegados de los demás municipios.

In addition to the results of the referenda, the delegates submitted the
Binding Territorial Declaration of the Maya and Mestizo Peoples regarding the Good Faith Community Referenda, a document affirming the communities' decisions in the face of the imposition of a neoliberal economic order that has its antecedents in the state-sanctioned genocide committed during the civil war.
